Zombinomicron is a website about surviving the end of modern civilization.
For years, books, movies, and even songs have harried us with the idea of modern civilization’s sudden, apocalyptic end. Global war, alien encounter, viral outbreak, cosmic cataclysm, evolutionary shift, religious event, and technological uprising have all been presented as potential causes of the collapse of modern civilization. These post-apocalyptic futures are visions of a world where the human race is devastated, struggling against all odds to endure, dancing at the edge of extinction.
Many of these stories are driven by a sudden, dramatic change in the pecking order. The most frightening, however, are those with a plausible catalyst for the end. They present a subtle chain of events, barely noteworthy when taken individually, insidiously moving us toward the unavoidable end of modern civilization. These stories are the ones that slip into our dreams when we read them. They give us a rumbling hunger for more, and we begin to wonder what our chances would be. “Would I survive?”
Zombinomicron is about feeding that hunger, and answering that question with a resounding “Yes.”
